The 2022-23 NBA season was a rather tough one for Ben Simmons. After a scathing exit from the Philadelphia 76ers, Simmons was expected to take it up a notch with his new team, the Brooklyn Nets. Ben Simmons was sidelined for the remainder of the season in February after dealing with knee soreness and back issues. During his time on the floor, Simmons rarely seemed like the player that he was in Philly.
Though the Australian player did rack up quite a few assists and rebounds, his scoring saw an all-time low since his arrival in the league. Simmons could be categorized as a bit of a high-flying point guard.
But during his tenure with the Nets, fans rarely got to see that side of the 6?10 point guard. Now after quite a few months, there has finally been an update on the $177 million rich Simmons and what to expect.
According to ESPN writer Marc J. Spears, ?The expectation is he (Ben Simmons) will fully resume his career at the level he has prior to leaving Philadelphia.?

The expectations from Simmons
After being drafted first overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2016, Ben Simmons was touted to be the next Magic Johnson. Listed at 6?10, Simmons was expected to have a certain advantage over every other point guard in the league.
And for the first few years, fans got to see Simmons shine as analysts claimed the sky was the limit for him. Simmons went on to win the Rookie of the Year Award and also made the All-Star game thrice.
