The Denver Nuggets will face the Oklahoma City Thunder for their final game this year. The last time Nikola Jokic and Co. faced the Thunder, rookie Chet Holmgren put up a historic performance and upset the defending Champions. Holmgren scored 17 points and 11 rebounds. He also had a career-high 8 blocks on the defensive end and led the Thunder to a close 118-117 victory. Center Jaylin Williams also came clutch in the second half, surprising the Nuggets defense.
Despite being awed by the young OKC Centers, Nuggets head coach, Mike Malone, is not afraid to face them again tonight. And this time, he has a new strategy to come out with a win.

The Denver Nuggets head coach, Mike Malone, revealed his strategy ahead of tonight’s match-up against Chet Holmgren and Co. “Last game, they started Josh Giddey, and in the second half, they went big with big Jaylin Williams along with Chet…Chet Holmgren had nine blocks last game to your point, so we have to try and go through his chest.” Malone said. The Nuggets were too passive in their last meeting against the Thunder. They do not want to repeat the same mistake tonight. Nikola Jokic and Co. will be ready to take on the Big men of OKC.

Malone claimed they would be more aggressive against Chet Holmgren and try to dominate him inside the paint. If any player can be successful in dominating the 7-footer, it’s the 2-time MVP Nikola Jokic. The Joker did not play up to his standard on the December 16 game and scored only 24 points and 12 assists. Those numbers might look impressive on any other player’s stat sheet, but that can be considered an off night in Nikola Jokic’s book.

Nuggets vs. Thunder might provide another thriller tonight
Although the OKC Thunder are a very young team, they match quite evenly against the Denver Nuggets. That means we might witness another great game tonight. It will be a Battle of the Bigs inside the paint for both teams. Nikola Jokic will try to play better than the last time he faced the Thunder. And Chet Holmgren will look to continue his dominant form and put on another defensive clinic.

There might also be a great duel between superstar guards Jamal Murray and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Murray had an off night in their last meeting and scored only 15 points. But he has found his rhythm recently and playing at an elite level. With both teams in top form, it will be interesting to see which team comes out on top.
