Finally, the starting lineup may not be a problem for Steve Kerr and the Warriors. After De’Anthony Melton’s ACL injury, the mastermind was left scrambling to try out every permutation and combination to find the perfect starting five. He had to do what most organizations do, hire from outside. So, Golden State has acquired Dennis Schroder’s services finally and will put them to the test!

Schroder, the German point guard, arrives with high expectations, particularly when it comes to fixing the Warriors’ backup point guard situation. But let’s be real—he’s bringing way more to the table than just bench depth. With his skill set, the hoopster’s almost guaranteed to start alongside Stephen Curry. Well, Kerr seems to think so too, as per reporter Sam Gordon’s recent update.

The Warriors HC has confirmed Schroder’s starting tonight for Golden State. So who is Dennis replacing? Probably Buddy Hield. That’s a massive boost for the Bay, especially considering Lindy Waters III, Brandin Podziemski, and Hield couldn’t quite fill that role. Another player returning to the starting lineup is Draymond Green. There were questions regarding the floor general’s role.

Although it’s tough to imagine that group starting consistently with no one taller than 6’7″.

This raised the question- Does Green keep coming off the bench? Looks like that question has been answered. Kerr said, “Our identity is — we’re a defensive team… Ultimately, if we’re going to set a tone defensively, we probably need to have the best defender in the league on the floor,” regarding Green.

After missing two games with a calf injury, the veteran has now played in four straight appearances. Over those contests, he’s been solid, putting up 11.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 29 minutes per game.

But this isn’t enough for the Warriors. They’re still looking for a star to fix their woes.

The Warriors are in a tough spot with Jonathan Kuminga, and Mike Dunleavy Jr. isn’t making things any clearer. Despite not extending JK’s contract, the GM also hasn’t rushed to include him in a trade. It really feels like Golden State can’t decide if Kuminga is part of their future or just a trade chip.

Bobby Marks, an ESPN analyst, thinks the Warriors could have the best of both worlds. On 95.7 The Game, Marks said, “[In a trade for] Jimmy Butler, Zion, or Brandon Ingram … I think you can keep Kuminga if you’re willing to give up draft equity.” This could be a win-win for Golden State, especially with Kerr’s preference for maintaining a flexible rotation. But don’t forget about JK’s frustrations last season, when he aired his grievances about his role. That might make a potential trade easier for the HC to manage.

The addition of Dennis Schroder only adds to the feeling that something bigger could be coming soon. The Warriors’ drop from first to eighth in the West highlights how important it is for them to make a move.

If JK’s value isn’t reflecting what the Warriors hoped for in a trade or if the piece they want isn’t worth it, this might just be a sign that they’re stuck. Regardless, if they can add a star, it could help boost their 14-11 record. It’s clear Golden State has some tough choices ahead. What would you do—hold onto Kuminga or make a big move?
