It’s only been about three months since the Celtics won their 18th title. Boston has come close to winning a title in the past. However, they finally pulled it off this year but it came with a sacrifice. Derrick White, one of the defensive powerhouse of the Celtics broke his teeth during the Finals. White took a hard fall after Dereck Lively landed right on his head. White, who was facing the floor broke his teeth during the impact, but at the end of the day, it was worth it. Now, months later, the guard found himself in a much more dangerous situation off the court.

This past weekend at CSU’s football game, White got into an altercation that could have escalated worse than it already had. During this heated confrontation, White got his hat knocked off as the two sides continued to fight. It took a while for things to come to a halt, however, it could have resulted in White losing his teeth yet again.

On the other hand, the pre-season games are just a few weeks away. Any injury off the court can highly impact White’s performance for the upcoming season as the Celtics hope to repeat the title. It is safe to say that White caught the wind of the CU crowd at the start of the college football season. He was lucky enough to not have injured his teeth as the Celtic spent 3 hours at the dentist after getting hurt in the Finals.

But the real question is, what led to the scuffle? Well, according to TMZ, White got involved in a ‘verbal spat’ with a Rams fan in the middle of the second quarter. But things got physical later on, during the third quarter of the game. It took a while for law enforcement to arrive, but the situation was under control before it could escalate further. At the end of the day, White went home knowing that his Buffaloes bagged the win. On the other hand, White has a lot of work to do.

Derrick White has an important season coming up

The NBA season is right around the corner! With the pre-season being three weeks away, players have started to get back to training camp. The Celtics, who are the favorites to win it all yet again have a lot of expectations on their shoulders. White has been a crucial scorer and defender, managing both ends of the floor. He averaged 15.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists while shooting over 46% from the field. White also showed up in the playoffs, shooting over 40% from deep.

Playing alongside Jrue Holiday, White has been a fantastic guard. The two have set the tone on the defensive end multiple times. While this pair takes care of guarding the perimeter, JT and Brown take charge on the offensive end. It will be interesting to see the Celtics repeat the title as they prepare for the opening night.
