Never let your enemies know your moves. Never let your enemies understand your strategies. But then, the Minnesota Timberwolves understand the Denver Nuggets’ pattern. “Familiarity,” Chris Finch had stated. And he wasn’t bluffing about it. Nikola Jokic’s 61-point game on Tuesday wasn’t enough to stop Anthony Edwards. A miracle could’ve happened in the 2OT game, but that last miss from Brodie- oh, what an eyesore!
Now, the Nuggets have a 0-4 record against the Wolves this season (yikes!). They have not won one game. Maybe Ant & Co. have truly decoded the secret formula to pin down Denver. Or maybe the Nuggets have become too predictable for Chris Finch to read. Meanwhile, DeAndre Jordan expressed his concerns, or rather fear, of the Wolves moving forward. Speaking on Run It Back, the 36-year-old center shared his thoughts.
Facing Minnesota again would mean a new level of anxiety being unlocked. Not just for Nikola Jokic’s squad but for the fans as well. What if they’re hit with another loss? The playoffs won’t be forgiving. One slip and you let go of your dreams of the conference finals. “Man, it should be a concern. I think anytime a team sweeps you throughout the season, it’s concerning. We don’t want to overreact, but we definitely have to look in the mirror, look at film, and look at different ways that we have to be successful,” DJ said. Denver has had its moment of glory against the TWolves, but that didn’t last for long.

Jordan further mentioned: “I think we have to come to a playing as close to perfect as we can for 48 minutes against a team like that. Give guys like Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle, and Naz really different looks to throw riches in their game plan. Also, attack those guys defensively as well. So I think it’s tough. But that’s what the playoffs are all about. Every game is going to be different. Every possession. So we just got to figure out ways to be able to exclude offense and defense.”
Jordan knows the challenge ahead. To beat a team like that, they need near-perfection in every minute. No slip-ups. No breaks. Every moment matters. Players like Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle cannot be given comfort. Different looks. Disrupt their rhythm. Make them second-guess. And don’t just defend them—attack them. Make them work on both ends. It won’t be easy. But that’s the playoffs. Chaos. Adjustments. Every game shifts. Every possession counts.
Meanwhile, one name that shines irrespective of the match results is that of Nikola Jokic. Even Anthony Edwards couldn’t help but say, “He might be the best basketball player I’ve seen.” This best basketball player had one of the most iconic nights at the Ball Arena, but the results weren’t in his favor. Nonetheless, there must’ve been something Joker felt after the game, about which only DeAndre Jordan knows.

After losing to Anthony Edwards’s Timberwolves, Nikola Jokic shared a secret message with DeAndre Jordan
Jokic played for 53 minutes on Tuesday. He didn’t leave the court for a break in the second half. It looked like the Serbian superstar had a point to prove. What was it? That the Denver Nuggets could win against Minnesota. Well, that surely didn’t happen. However, Nikola shared his thoughts with DJ, and he, in return, shared it with the world on Run It Back.
What’s your perspective on:
Have the Timberwolves truly cracked the code, or are the Nuggets just too predictable now?
Have an interesting take?
Jordan was leaving the train and left the locker room, and he saw Jokic in the training room getting worked on. The 29-year-old spotted his teammates and said, “Hey, I’m not playing tomorrow. My back hurts. You have to play.” DJ then said, “All right, cool. So I’m not new after the game. Like, you know, he’s probably gonna be out. So I knew that last night was gonna be my time to shine.”

The Wolves are not just winning. They are dismantling the Nuggets piece by piece. Anthony Edwards is relentless, and not even a historic night from Nikola Jokic could stop him. That frustration is sinking in. The exhaustion is real. Moreover, Denver has no answers, just questions that keep piling up. The playoffs will not wait. Either they adjust, or they watch Minnesota leave them behind.
