If LeBron James is not on the court or in the gym, he’d certainly be on his PlayStation or surfing the internet. The same trend is continuing even in the UAE, at USABMNT’s Olympic training camp. On Friday night, Bron’s 159 million followers saw his Instagram display picture encircled in a pink, red, yellow circle. That meant only one thing, and that is, LeBron has posted a new story! Opening it showed another NBA legend talking about some baseball.
The personnel in question are Kevin Garnett and NY Mets pitcher Edwin Diaz. LeBron James couldn’t help but laugh at what KG had to say about Diaz as the Lakers’ ace left a message. The 39-year-old posted the video on his story and wrote, “TICKET IS HILARIOUS!!! But dead a** serious too!!”. The video showed KG accurately mimicking the walk-out ‘NARCO’ theme played at Citi Field every time Diaz takes the mound.
The video is from an upcoming episode of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce’s KG Certified pod. In the video, KG praises Diaz’s theme, as he says, “That Mets joint when my boy walk out mo*********r there like he bout to throw the strike. MAN! Is that not the hardest sh*t in sports?” before proceeding to get excited beyond his co-host’s control. In case you’re lost on what’s going on, listen to this:

No wonder KG was so hyped describing the whole scene. And this is what you search with in case you’re hooked to it too- “Narco” by Timmy Trumpet and Blasterjaxx. The theme somehow has now attached itself to Edwin’s legacy. The 2-time MLB All-Star has been playing for the Mets since 2019 and returned to action earlier this year after missing 8 months of action due to surgery to repair the full-thickness tear of his patellar tendon.
LeBron did find the humor in Kevin Garnett’s pumped-up commentary and, given his ties to the MLB, he could thoroughly relate to it. The Laker is a minority owner of the Boston Red Sox, so for him to acknowledge KG’s passion was understandable! However, the duo was not always on the same page given the intense rivalry between the Celts and the Cavs in the days when LeBron was in Cleveland.

Back in 2010, the Celtics dashed LeBron James’ and the Cavaliers’ Eastern Conference Finals hopes. In the semifinals, LeBron came up against the Cs trio of Garnett, Pierce, and Rajon Rondo. After a 4-2 series loss, James’ first stint in Cleveland finished, and in 2019 KG took credit for it. During an episode of “Bill Simmons Podcast” in 2019, Kevin joined the host and Adam Sandler to discuss the series.
“We broke LeBron, so get your a** out of here with that,” Garnett said during the show. “So they were talking sh*t to him, the media, and the league knew that they had an agenda that we weren’t a part of, and that’s how they ended up winning that series.”
“Man, listen, we didn’t give a f**k about LeBron; we didn’t fear LeBron, and we didn’t think he could beat all five of us, and thats how it felt,” Garnett asserted while reminiscing about that series. James was at the top of his game during that series and was the high scorer in 4 separate games. But that wasn’t enough to salvage the series.

After that season, he stunned the world by switching to the Miami Heat where he finally won his 1st NBA championship. But that’s all water under the bridge now and LeBron James is fully focused on getting a gold medal with the USABMNT. Garnett even devised a way to prolong LeBron’s career, so it is safe to say it’s nothing but respect between the two.
