On Saturday, the Dubs defeated the LA Lakers by 17 points. However, Chase Center didn’t see LeBron James as he sat the game out. Meanwhile, it was the debut of Chris Paul as a Warrior. CP3 opened with a bucket to set the tone for his stint at Dubs Dynasty.

Although a few days before the preseason game, the Warriors ventured away from the glitz of their world to foray into another. Klay Thompson, accompanied by Paul, visited a prison to play hoops with the inmates. Here’s what that looked like.

San Quentin State Prison, one of the nation’s most notorious correctional facilities, is under constant surveillance. Inside its walls resides the largest death row population in the country, a system that California is currently taking apart. However, last Wednesday morning, one of that mattered.

As the Warriors made their way to the penitentiary for the ninth year in a row. The San Quentin Warriors faced against the Golden State Warriors making it a victory for all, as pointed out by one inmate who said, “It?s a win-win, the Warriors are winning”. The Dubs team consisted of support staff and assistant coaches accompanied by a few players.

Even superstar Klay Thompson made his way there saying, “It?s honestly really inspiring how hard they play, the teamwork they play with, this didn?t happen overnight”. He was there with other stars such as Moses Moddy and Chris Paul. “A lot of these guys got way more wisdom than I have,” said Paul. He further added, “They?ve had experiences I?ve never had; and they?re talking about perseverance and how they keep their mind strong and whatnot.”

On 7th October, he made his debut with dubs at the Chase Center. Despite his winning-first game, however, LeBron James wasn’t playing.

Lakers get Thrashed by The Warriors in the absence of LeBron James

The absence of these two key Lakers’ playmakers caused frequent offensive stagnation. Both LeBron James and Austin Reaves sat the game out. Anthony Davis Led the charge in the first half. However, he was no match for the trio of Stephen Curry-Chris Paul, and Klay Thompson.

In the end, the Dubs won by a margin of 17 points, 108-125. The preseason isn’t an indication of regular season performance. Yet it serves as a moral booster for the entire team who go to training with a positive mindset. As a result, it fosters a winning vibe within the team.
