The Los Angeles Lakers have made major off-season moves to build a title-contending roster. They secured the core of the team Rui Hachimura, Austin Reaves, and D?Angelo Russell while adding several fresh faces. Among the players landing new contracts was Jarred Vanderbilt, who inked a four-year, $48 million deal with the team. The Lakers had received Vanderbilt in exchange for Russell Westbrook as a part of the three-team, eight-player deal.
However, LeBron‘s ex-teammate believes that the power forward could have received way more if he hadn’t signed the extension. Just days after claiming Vanderbilt should be overpaid, the ex-Lakers star sends a heartwarming gesture to a special someone.

When it comes to passing down generational talents, Patrick Beverley, the doting father of four, is doing a good job. He is a father to two boys and two girls, however, only two of them are known. Beverley’s first daughter, Adlaia, inherited the athletic gene from his father. She grew up to be a staunch lover of basketball, volleyball, and other track and field events. While not much is known about the 35-year-old guard’s children, he often takes to social media to share hilarious anecdotes from their lives.
In one such instance, Beverley recently took to Instagram to wish his daughter a speedy recovery after she suffered a torn ACL. He wished her a speedy recovery via stories, saying, “It’s ok. Bounce right back BabyGirl“.

However, just a few days ago, Patrick Beverley revealed the financial advice he shared with his former Minnesota Timberwolves teammate. During a recent episode of the Pat Bev Podcast,?Beverly disclosed that he advised Vanderbilt to not sign the extension; but rather to leverage his free agency to get a better deal. “Obviously, you sign an extension, you get your worth. You sign as a free agent, you get overpaid,” said Beverley. “For what he does, he should be overpaid. If he would have waited, [we?re] talking ’bout four-year, $60 million; four-year $65 million.”
After Vando’s contributions last season, there was no doubt that the Lakers would offer him an extension. However, the 6’8″ forward was only making $4 million this past season. In light of this, it would be hard to pass on the hefty sum of $48 million for four seasons. Beverley acknowledged his sentiments and offered, “But it?s also hard to turn down $48 million.”
