WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu has quickly risen from the ranks to become one of the biggest names in women’s basketball. Weeks after her three-pointer achievement. It captured the attention of none other than Stephen Curry. The New York Liberty star has added another achievement to her already-stacked resume. The 25-year-old recently played a huge role as the Liberty got the better of one of their arch-rivals, the Las Vegas Aces.

The two teams faced off in the finals of the Commissioners Cup. Following their brilliant win, Ionescu and former MVP Jonquel Jones’ celebrations have taken over the internet.

Although this is only her fourth season in the league, Sabrina Ionescu is quite a well-known name in the basketball world. After all, she trained under Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

It looks like she is putting the training to good use. She led her team from the front to win the 2023 Commissioners Cup, which is an in-season tournament. They faced the #1 seed, the Las Vegas Aces, led by reigning MVP A’Ja Wilson.

6-foot-6 inches tall Jonquel Jones, was the difference maker for the Liberty. She recorded 16 points and 15 rebounds and was rightfully named the Commissioners Cup MVP.

Following their brilliant win, the players were high in spirits. Video footage from their locker room celebrations is doing the rounds on the internet.

Ionescu and Jones, two of the Liberty stars, took center stage with their dance moves. Interestingly, Jones also drank from the trophy to commemorate the win!

The Commissioners Cup is not the only accomplishment for Sabrina Ionescu in the past few days. The $165 billion worth company, Nike, recently announced a signature shoe for the 2-time WNBA All-Star.

In her last WNBA game, Ionescu thanked Phil Knight, the Nike co-founder, with a special message on her brand-new Sabrina 1s. She becomes just the second woman basketball player after legend Diana Taurasi to have a signature shoe with Nike.
