Kai Jones has been amusing the NBA Twitter-verse with his antics throughout the summer. Hoops fans gawked their eyes at Jones. Owing to the controversial statement he made against MJ himself. “I hit middy better than mike wym,” said the 22-year-old. More recently, the Charlotte Hornets announced his absence indefinitely. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium “here’s no timetable for his return,” citing “personal reasons.”

While, after a nine-month hiatus, teams kick off their journey for the Larry O’Brien trophy. Luka Doncic‘s teammate claims to shed light on Kai Jones’s unusual behaviour.

Luka Doncic’s 22 YO Teammate Sheds Light on “Real Kai”

Power Forward Greg Brown III is now playing for the Dallas Mavericks. After a year-long stint in the G League for the Ontario Clippers. However, the 22-year-old was also a teammate of Kai Jones at the University of Texas. Recently, in an interview during a practice session, he revealed the truth about Kai.

His interview was posted on Twitter by Noah Weber. The caption stated, “Greg Brown III on former UT teammate and current Hornets big, Kai Jones: “Kai has always been like that…People just have never seen the real Kai. Kai is really just showing the real Kai right now.” Brown III said he’s checked in on Kai, and said “he says he’s doing great.”Brown, later in the clip, also asserted, ” He might be going through a little something just like all of us.” 

Meanwhile, Hornets coach Steve Clifford has also stated his absence and organization’s concerns toward him. However, refrained from any further comment.

Kai Jones Social Media Antics

Roderick Boone of the Charlotte Observer had previously asserted that Jones’ situation with the team was unclear due to some unusual social media posts. “In a Twitter post, Jones said he’s better than Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James and refused to back down from the comment. There’s also an Instagram video where Jones is sweating profusely and it is hard to make out what he’s saying. The video went viral and has been viewed more than 16 million times.”
