Despite retiring a couple of decades back, Michael Jordan still possesses a striking importance in the NBA world. He is currently focused on signing interesting prospects for his Jordan brand. After signing stars like Luka Doncic, he was on a rookie signing spree. Cam Whitmore from the Houston Rockets, chiefly, was one of them.

He was excited for his rookie year after getting picked in the 20th overall draft. To his surprise, the Rockets are sending him to the G-League team Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Whitmore signed a $15.6 million deal with the Rockets earlier this season.

“Y’all was saying he was better them Kuminga”

A veteran NBA fan and writer took to his X (formerly Twitter) account and opened up about this Whitmore saga. He reportedly bashed other fans who were, according to him, unnecessarily hyping the rookie Whitmore.

He said that he previously stated on the Warriors’ Twitter about Whitmore getting over-hyped. He also doubted him getting playing minutes. Other fans did not agree with him and said that Whitmore was better than Jonathan Kuminga. “I told warriors twitter when they was gassing Cam up in the summer league he will have a tough time getting mins, y’all was saying he was better them Kuminga.”

We won’t go into the debate whether he’s better than Kuminga or not. One thing that can be certainly agreed with is, he is indeed a bright prospect. He’ll gain the necessary experience playing in the G-League, might probably end up getting signed by big teams.

Fans React Hilariously After this Incident

Fans were all over the above post with their funny replies. They went on commenting how Whitmore will perform in the G-League. What did they say?

A fan commented, “Cam Whitmore in the Gleague” with him wearing rings on all his fingers.

Another fan wrote, “Cam Whitmore leading the Rio Grande Valley Vipers” with a trophy in hand.

It is evidently clear that the fans are well aware of his potential. It would be a great learning experience for someone new like him. Hope he makes the most out of it and returns to the NBA world next season. Will the Rockets retain him? Or some brighter prospects await? Time will tell.
