Bronny James and his future in basketball are in real jeopardy, and the reason for it might be LeBron. King James’ silence when asked about his future with the Los Angeles Lakers after a Game 5 loss to the defending champions was an Ultimatum to owner Jeanie Buss. If they want to keep the Former MVP they might not have a choice but to pick Bronny in the upcoming draft to fulfill his dream of sharing the court with his son.
If that is the situation, though, the ultimate loser might be USC Star himself. The Lakers have a history of trading their draft picks rather than developing them, for more experienced stars around their roster. A prime example of this is Jalen Hood. Picked 17th Overall in last year’s NBA draft Hood is already in the rumor mill for a trade.

However, the 20-year-old is not the only example. Los Angeles has traded away a slew of top-tier talents over the years, including players like Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball, Julius Randle, Josh Hart, and Brandon Ingram. According to mock draft projections, the Lakers will pick Alex Karaban from the UConn Huskies, but many experts predict that if they succumb to LeBron’s demands they might have to pick Bronny there instead.

If LA ends up doing so, Bronny will inevitably be shipped off to another franchise to toil away for a better player. Still, LBJ will get a chance to play with his son, but at what cost?
Is there a way for Bronny James to save his NBA career?
LeBron James’ agent Rich Paul might have the correct way for Bronny. According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski, “Rich Paul’s goal here in the pre-draft process for Bronny James is to see if there’s the right developmental system or organization, a place that can take a young player like Bronny James, who went five months without playing after his heart episode certainly limited him in his season at USC.”

The best bet for the 19-year-old is to polish his skills in a league that will allow it. Since his major heart issue prevented him from doing that at USC, playing restricted minutes. The G-league is a place where he can flourish and come back to the NBA having earned the skills to tackle it.
A ton of examples from Jalen Green to Pascal Siakam have been G-League vets who are currently dominating the league. In this scenario, Bronny might even have the chance to develop his skills and play with LeBron, at the same time. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
