The Milwaukee Bucks shed a 4-game losing streak against the league-leading Boston Celtics. However, a concerning situation hovered over Giannis Antetokounmpo. As the Greek Freak walked down the floor, he was seen hopping because of an issue in his left leg. The star immediately headed towards the locker room and he was declared out of the game because of a left calf strain. With that, Giannis is now slated out of the regular season, with a comeback only during the post-season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s superhuman build sheds off the majority of concerns around him. However, Gilbert Arenas and crew sounded a red alert. “On a scale of 1 to 10, they need to be on 10,” Norris Cole sparked the conversation about Giannis’ injury on Gil’s Arena. Building on that, Arenas shed light on the gravity of it, since it occurred on his dominant leg, the jumping leg. He further adds, “Sometimes you got to listen to the signs. This was how many inches from being an Achilles? It’s right there. It’s knocking on the door.” With that, Gilbert points a finger at Giannis’ 2-week return window, urging the star/franchise to attend to the current injury with every possible precaution.

To highlight the perils at stake, Gilbert and crew pointed out Kevin Durant‘s 2019 playoff sting. KD suffered a right calf strain in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Missing nine games, nearly 4-weeks, he made a desperate comeback for the Golden State Warriors in Game 5 of the Finals against the Raptors. However, just under 3 minutes into the second quarter, he tore his Achilles, forcing him to question his NBA career.

While Giannis Antetokounmpo has a different stature than Durant, improper rest invites risks to even the healthiest players. It is the same concern that saw LeBron James on the injury report the entire season.

Right after diving into the possible hazards of Giannis’s return, Gil’s crew evaluated the nature of the Bucks’ potential first-round game. From what the standings look like currently, the Bucks could face either of the three: Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, or Miami Heat. Unfortunately, only one of those matchups fare well for Milwaukee. Talking about the Pacers, “Dame can outdo Haliburton a 100%. He can outdo most of them dudes,” Cole said.

With that, the 2-time champion had alternate remarks about the 76ers. Philly features a well-rested Joel Embiid, who continues to have the best season of his career. As he leaps to be alongside all-time greats, Embiid gives Giannis Antetokounmpo the most intense matchup of the lot. “All it takes, when you’re already injured, one more little thing and you’re done,” Arenas underlined the potential matchup.

Moreover, Miami, coming off last season’s heated series against the Bucks, could yet again give the Bucks a run for their money; potentially asking Giannis to exert more on the court!
