After a disappointing end to the 2024 postseason campaign, the Milwaukee Bucks are back again. The Wisconsin team looked especially threatening last season following the addition of Damian Lillard. Despite some confusion surrounding the coaching change, they managed to finish 3rd in the Eastern Conference. However, injuries derailed their postseason run, with both Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined. Now, as the new season approaches, Dame is showcasing his impressive resume just two days before the opener.
This isn’t about recruiting a player for the upcoming season, but rather someone for the media team. While it may seem like just another non-sports-related department within the franchise, it plays a crucial role in the team’s business. In this new age, teams must keep up with their fans, and content creation is the key to achieving that—alongside winning championships, of course.
In the same vein, Damian Lillard may have found a perfect person for the Bucks’ content creation, as he highlighted a content creator. So, it all began when an IG handle, res_room_, shared a video of Lillard during a scrimmage at Fiserv Forum. The handle, which is run by a woman, wrote, “@bucks hire me, thanks” and also tagged Dame on her story. In response, the 8x NBA All-Star guard reshared it on his stories, directly acknowledging her request. Now, it’s up to the Bucks’ HR department to take the call.

Importantly, res_room_ runs a popular YouTube channel IKE & RE, a couple’s channel, which has 50.09k subscribers. So, Damian Lillard didn’t go wrong with his judgment regarding the qualification of the content creator. Nevertheless, even if she doesn’t get the job, this can be counted as one of Lillard’s kind acts of giving a shout-out to his fans.
What to look forward to with Damian Lillard & Co’s Bucks?
In the last two seasons, the Bucks had an early exit in the postseason. Despite finishing in the top 3 seeds, the team continued to lose in the first round. While some blame the injuries for the disappointment, experts point out a flaw in the roster. Apart from Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez, the team lacks depth and role players.
The team certainly won’t survive a deep postseason run with the roster. Above all, the team lost Malik Beasley and Patrick Beverley in the free agency, so the team has certainly taken a hit in the off-season. However, that isn’t the case. In fact, the front office has worked on the supporting cast.

Is Damian Lillard the missing piece, or will injuries continue to haunt the Bucks' dreams?

In the 2024 NBA Draft, the team selected AJ Johnson with the 23rd pick and Tyler Smith with the 33rd pick. While both players are relatively inexperienced, they have contributed to lowering the team’s average age. Notably, Johnson has delivered some crucial baskets during Lillard’s off-court minutes. Additionally, the team has bolstered its rotation by adding veteran experience in Delon Wright and Gary Trent Jr. As a result, we can expect a more consistent performance from the Wisconsin side this season.
