Dame was a guest on the Knuckleheads podcast recently. In the show, they discussed his trade to the Bucks and his new partnership with Giannis Antetokounmpo. Amid the conversation, the hosts asked him how it felt like to be a part of the NBA Top 75 roster.
The 7-time All-Star recalls his prestigious induction into the list. While simultaneously talking about being star-struck by Michael Jordan. Interestingly, Dame and other legends were taking the photograph of the 75 roster and MJ came shortly after. However, his aura and the reaction around it really define his impact on the game according to Lillard. “We walk out of the room where we take the big picture, and when we walk out, it’s like all these cameras, you know what I mean. There are so many stars and all these legends in here. When we get in the hallway, you see MJ walking towards us. He wasn’t even in there; he just got there.”
He concluded by saying, “More cameras on just him by himself than it is on all of us, and it was like that’s when you really saw the difference, like man, this dude the goat. Yeah, like when he was walking, everybody was just staring at him.”
Despite his inclusion in the top 75 roster, in the game against Boston, Lillard’s clutch talents seemed to fail him.
