After a promising start to the 2023-24 season, the Dallas Mavericks’ performances and form have petered out in the second half of the season. With less than 30 regular season games remaining, the Mavs currently languish in the 8th spot of the Western Conference standings, with a 30-23 record. However, fans of the Mavericks have witnessed improved results in recent games, winning four games on the bounce.

They face a rebuilding Washington Wizards’ side in their next match. But the Mavs could be forced to field a lineup without the likes of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, as their availability remains uncertain because of nagging injuries.

The game between the Mavs and the Wizards is scheduled to tip off by 8:30 PM, Eastern Time at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The Mavs would look to extend their winning streak to five games. But the uncertainty surrounding the availability of Kyrie and Luka has left many Mavericks’ supporters feeling uneasy. Luka Doncic first appeared on the Mavs’ injury report on 6th February due to a broken nose. However, he has played in the next three games, wearing a protective mask.

The Mavs have also listed Kyrie as “probable” because of a thumb sprain, but there’s a high likelihood that he will play against the Wizards. Nevertheless, the Mavs will miss the services of Dereck Lively II (nose) and Dante Exum (knee) for tonight’s game vs the Wizards. Maxi Kleber has also been listed as probable because of a dislocated small toe. Most of the Wizards’ roster is fit and available for tonight’s game, except for Isaiah Livers, who has been sidelined because of a hip injury.

Predicted Lineups: Mavericks vs Wizards

The Washington Wizards go into the game as massive underdogs. For the entire season, the Wizards’ performances and form have been nothing short of abysmal. However, this outcome was largely anticipated, given that the team is in the midst of a rebuild. They do possess some quality players like Tyus Jones, Jordan Poole, and Kyle Kuzma, but nowhere near good enough to become a playoff contender. They could begin the game with Tyus Jones, Jordan Poole, Kyle Kuzma, Deni Avdija, and Marvin Bagley III.
