Well, training camp is over and the Timberwolves have hopped on a flight to LA for their preseason opener against the Lakers. No doubt, everyone is excited to see them in action following the departure of Karl-Anthony Towns and the addition of Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. But as the team adjusts to the big change, Anthony Edwards and Co. openly shared their concerns about flying thousands of feet in the air. And you might even relate to them.
As the Wolves squad boarded the plane, each player was asked a quick trivia question, “Biggest flying pet peeve?” As expected, there were some interesting answers, but the most relatable came from Ant-Man. “Turbulence. Yeah. If we can go however long without turbulence, that’s the best flight of my life.” With his 40+ inch vertical leap and insane dunking highlights, you would think that Edwards would be comfortable soaring high in the air. But even he gets a bit annoyed when the flight he is on faces turbulence.

On the other side, his new teammate Donte DiVincenzo also had an interesting response. “Crying babies.” Relatable? With nearly 3 million people in America traveling by air every day, surely many of you would have faced similar issues while on a flight.
Other Wolves stars also listed other common flying issues like ear popping, back hurting and even sitting next to a lavatory. However, Rudy Gobert had a completely different concern, “Just to be not having room for my legs.” Yes, standing at 7’1 and being one of the tallest people not only in the league but in the world, it would be extremely hard for Rudy to get a seat where his legs have enough room for movement. That certainly shouldn’t be a problem for him, though, considering the NBA teams usually fly private and have access to much more comfortable and spacious seats than a regular commercial plane.

With multiple Wolves players chiming in, even Julius Randle had a unique response.

Julius Randle reveals Food related pet peeve following “Breath of fresh air” remark
With the KAT trade now official, the Wolves’ latest recruit, Julius Randle was also accompanying Anthony Edwards and Co. on the flight. And when asked about his flying pet peeve, Randle replied, “No snacks.” Yes, the forward wants easy access to food whenever he is on a plane.

Despite the minor concern, Randle is looking forward to his new journey in Minnesota, “You want to be somewhere where you feel wanted. I feel wanted here. At this point in my career, I’ve accomplished a lot of great things on an individual level, but I want to win a championship. This is a perfect opportunity to do that… [The trade] was a breath of fresh air.”
Yes, Randle became a multi-time All-Star and an All-NBA player during his time in New York. But now, he is focused on achieving team success over individual greatness. And he is ready to contribute to his new team, “I want to help [Anthony Edwards], I want to help Rudy [Gobert], I want to help Naz [Reid]—all those guys. I want to help win a championship, and that’s the only thing that matters.” Well, he could do it by being a lethal scorer like he was in New York and a solid defensive presence. Do you think Randle can achieve his goal?
