Stephen Curry’s tailbone is back in the headlines—and not in a good way. The Warriors star took another nasty fall against the Lakers, and if body language could talk, his was screaming: “Not this again.” Curry grimaced, squirmed, and looked like a guy who just realized he left his wallet at home.
Warriors reporter Anthony Slater confirmed what everyone saw, tweeting: “That tailbone/pelvic issue clearly still bothering Steph Curry. Rolled onto it after that last fall and squirmed around in pain. Remaining in the game.“

It’s been two weeks since Curry first picked up this pelvic contusion against the Raptors on March 20, and while he’s been powering through, the pain is still very much a factor. He’s been using custom padding to protect the area, but at this point, someone might need to get him a memory foam gaming chair for the bench.
Curry’s latest fall is a painful reminder that he’s been here before—literally. Back in March 2021, he suffered a brutal tailbone injury against the Rockets after tripping over a riser. That one led to a hairline fracture and five missed games. This time, in 2025, it’s a pelvic contusion—not as severe, but clearly still a problem.
After initially missing two games post-injury, Curry returned on March 28 against the Pelicans, dropping 23 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 5 threes in a win. But tonight’s fall against the Lakers proves that this injury isn’t going away anytime soon.
He’s been playing through it, sure, but every awkward landing could spell disaster. And with the Warriors fighting for their playoff lives, this is the absolute worst time for Steph to be anything less than 100%.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Curry's tailbone hold up, or will it be the Warriors' Achilles' heel this season?

Warriors hold the Lead, but the stakes are sky-high
Despite the discomfort, Curry hasn’t slowed down. As of halftime, he’s already got 15 points and 4 assists, helping the Warriors build a 60-47 lead over the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena.
His backcourt partner Brandin Podziemski has been BALLING, leading the team with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Meanwhile, the Lakers are keeping it competitive thanks to Rui Hachimura (13 points) and Austin Reaves (9 points, 5 rebounds).
But here’s where things get REALLY intense: The Warriors (44-31) currently sit 5th in the West. A loss tonight? They’d fall all the way to 8th in a four-way tie with the Grizzlies, Timberwolves, and Clippers. With only a handful of games left, every single one feels like a must-win. And with Curry’s injury lingering, Warriors fans have every reason to be nervous. Curry has been through plenty of injuries in his career—ankles, knees, tailbone, you name it. But this one feels particularly frustrating because it just won’t go away.

Golden State’s medical staff is monitoring him closely, but at this point, it’s clear: Steph is playing hurt. The good news? The Warriors’ offense is still clicking. They’re shooting 55.3% from the field and 55.6% from three, keeping the Lakers on their heels.
The bad news? Every single fall is a heart-stopper. With the Warriors’ playoff hopes hanging in the balance, all eyes are on Curry’s tailbone—and whether he can push through without making things worse.
