The Baltimore Ravens and Rashod Bateman took on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL Wildcard Round. The fans were locked in for the game and among them was none other than Commanders fan and Phoenix Suns star, Kevin Durant. This game was special for the Suns’ veteran who watched Bateman pay a special homage to his legacy on the field.
How did the Ravens wideout pay his respect to the Slim Reaper? You might ask. Well, Bateman played the game repping a custom-made pair of Nike KD cleats. And sure enough, he played like the future NBA Hall-of-Famer. In the first quarter of the game, Bateman made the whole stadium stand on their feet as he completed a 15-yard touchdown catch and opened the scoring.

As the Ravens clinched the victory, Durant shared his reaction to watching Bateman wear KD-4 custom cleats. He posted a picture of Bateman on his story and wrote, “Good sh-t 7 @rashodbateman“. Showing his appreciation for the NFL player. He also showed love to Bateman on X as he reposted a tweet mentioning the same with an emoji.
Furthermore, the custom cleats worn by Bateman were KD 4 which were initially released in 2011. This was Durant’s fourth season in the league and the most successful edition of his signature shoes with Nike. With whom the veteran has a $300 million lifetime contract a feat only a few athletes have been able to achieve so far. Kevin Durant crosses the 20-point mark once again as the Suns defeat the Jazz
Before the Ravens and Bateman were in action, Kevin Durant and the Suns were on the court against the Utah Jazz. The Suns made it back-to-back wins in front of their home crowd. Recently, Phoenix was in a slump as they lost in four straight games raising a lot of questions about the Big Three in Phoenix.
Well, they have picked up their slack winning two out of their last three games including this one. While Devin Booker led the scoring with 34 points, Durant also shined on the hardwood scoring 25 points as he shot 11-of-19. Additionally, he assumed the facilitator role dishing out 7 assists, the highest for the Suns, and grabbing five rebounds.

This tally made it Kevin Durant’s 14th consecutive game where he crossed the 20-point mark, completing a remarkable feat. As the Suns also took their season record to 18-19 closing in to turn it into a winning record. The perennial All-Star is amidst a great campaign with Phoenix as they look to make a deep playoff run. Durant will look to stay hot as the Suns host the Charlotte Hornets this Sunday at the Footprint Center.
