Jaylen Brown's 'Coming for blood'—Is this the year the Celtics finally dominate the NBA?

The reigning Finals MVP, Jaylen Brown already has quite some expectations on his shoulders. Yes, even though the regular season is over two months out, fans are anticipating Brown’s performance this fall. But why would Brown have such an audience awaiting his comeback after he won a championship and Finals MVP? Well, most of this has to do with Team USA’s decision to draft Derrick White as Kawhi’s replacement instead of Brown. Not only that, but even JB wasn’t so happy with the decision.

There were numerous reasons as to why Brown didn’t make the national team. However, the ECF and Finals MVP trophy was enough of a statement to make the team. Regardless, the USAB committee seems to have ignited the fuel in Jaylen Brown. The 27-year-old’s recent post on Instagram shared glimpses of his workout. Brown has been training for the upcoming season in Bahrain with his trainer and company. Needless to say, fans were more than impressed, saying that Brown is “Coming for blood” this fall.

It is safe to say that Brown looks in the most dominant shape ever. Working out early for the upcoming seasons says a lot about how much he wants to repeat the title. Interestingly, Brown won’t be alone in this mission of his. Jayson Tatum, one of the Celtics who had a fantastic year so far, sat two games in the Olympics. More precisely, Tatum missed the first group stage game and the Semi-Finals. Now, JT wasn’t happy with Kerr’s rotations leaving him out.

This only makes things better for Boston, who hopes to defend their title despite the growing competition in the East. Brown and Tatum were neck to neck on the stat sheet during the postseason. Both displayed big-time performances, but it was Brown who managed to make the case for the Finals MVP trophy. As seen from his post, Brown is not done yet. Not only did his recent Instagram activity reveal his mission but also left fans in awe.

Have an interesting take?

Brown’s recent postseason run caught a lot of attention than usual. Brown was shooting better, his finishing was on point, and so was his defense. It was pretty much the first time when Jaylen Brown was considered better than Jayson Tatum in a postseason run. But that isn’t what Brown is solely focused on. It would be a feat to see JB and company lift a back-to-back title as suggested by a fan saying, “I smell back to back champ”.

Another fan commented that “Bro in Saudi doing side missions”. Well, these side missions will definitely pay off if the Celtics play their cards just right. At the end of the day, they have two dominant scorers with useful assets, making up for a perfectly balanced team. Moreover, this may just be the start of a dynasty as many would believe. With Brown and Tatum leading the way, it is definitely a possibility.

Tatum, White, and Holiday have just come back from the Olympics and will take their time getting back in the lab. Yes, while Brown has been training individually, the team training camp will be as important. And there is no doubt that Tatum and Brown will be looking to answer back. This particular fan called out the league for the upcoming season saying, “O my God the league is cooked”.

Several other reactions include quite the hype around JB’s potential breakout season. However, looking at the Celtics, their core makes up for most of the contributions. Yes, there is some collective effort from the team that makes them a champion, rather than relying on a scorer who can give them 30+ points each game. It will be interesting to see Brown and Tatum next season face the newly developed teams in the East. The back-to-back title run won’t be an easy one, but definitely worth looking out for considering what Brown and Tatum have been through this offseason.

What are your thoughts on Jaylen Brown preparing early for the season? Do you think the Celtics have a chance at repeating the title? Let us know in the comments.
