LeBron James has been in the NBA for over two decades. The 38-year-old officially became the oldest player in the league this season after the retirement of former Miami teammate Udonis Haslem. So, it is natural that King James’ taste in music is a little different from the younger generation. LeBron loves to hang out with his young sons and Lakers teammates, but he still cannot get over the music he used to listen to during his St. Vincent-St. Mary High School days.

The 4-time Champion paid tribute to 50-year-old rapper Project Pat’s iconic album, which is two years older than LeBron’s Hall of Fame NBA career.

Patrick Earl Houston, popularly known as Project Pat, dropped one of the most iconic hip-hop albums in 2001. He released “Mista Don’t Play: Everythangs Workin” more than two decades ago, which is still garnering appreciation from its listeners. That was Project Pat’s second career album, and it gained national popularity. LeBron James, who was still in high school during the album’s release, reminisced about Project Pat’s creation and sang praises on X, “Man this is one of the COLDEST albums EVER!! From start to finish! He was in his bag.”

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar does not shy away from appreciating the music that he loves. Just two months ago, LeBron attended a live performance by Pop icon Adele. He could not stop singing praises of the 16-time Grammy Award-winning artist on social media.

So, King James’ appreciation for music goes beyond Hip Hop and rap. Maybe listening to his favorite artists in his spare time is what motivates LeBron to dominate the league even at this age.

LeBron James is still dominating the league at age 38

King James is just two weeks away from his 39th birthday. But no one would be able to guess his age if they saw him playing on the court. Even at age 38, LeBron is playing some of his career’s best basketball. He is averaging 25.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in his 21st season, and he has led the Lakers to a 15-10 record. LeBron also went undefeated in the inaugural in-season tournament and became the first-ever MVP of the NBA Cup.

It is still a mystery for many people how LeBron is playing at this level more than two decades into his NBA career. Most of it is taking care of his body and being obsessed with improving his game. Some of it could also be listening to his favorite artists from time to time to get some much-needed relaxation from the busy NBA schedule.
