Paul George recently announced that he will be entering his free agency. While this news shattered the Warriors’ hopes of landing PG this summer, it opened doors for other teams to introduce the nine-time All-Star. George’s last few years have been great and even more efficient. But, only for him. The Clippers on the other hand have struggled to find success in the playoffs despite frequent changes. PG led the squad to the Conference Finals which was the best postseason run ever since he teamed up with Leonard.

George is still a great player and is in the middle of his best-performing years. Putting such efforts in the right franchise could help him win a title. The Warriors’ offer to trade for PG included CP3, Kuminga, Moody, a first-round pick, and even Andrew Wiggins. However, the Clippers front office did not accept such valuable assets. It seemed as if they’d rather let George walk away than help the Dubs. Of course, if he was to join the Warriors, it would’ve alarmed the West. Though after his free-agency announcement, PG13 may have just decided his next destination. His wife, Daniela recently followed Joel Embiid‘s wife, Anne Da Paula.

Is Young Trece planning to head back to the East? Considering the Sixers’ position in the East, they could use a star like him. Embiid has been dominant, but with an efficient scorer like PG, the Sixers can become even more solid. Adding to the Maxey and Embiid’s duo, the Sixers’ offense can be improved effectively. In other words, Philly can finally hope to get past the second round if they manage land Paul George.

Ever since their last trip to the Finals in 2001, the Sixers have never made it past the Conference Semi-Finals. The struggle is visible and Philly is looking to get out of the bubble. However, the question that comes up is PG’s value in the free agency market. But surprisingly, as expensive as his contract may be, the Sixers will consider the deal.

Philly might be open to Paul George’s $221 million deal

PG13 is eligible for a four-year $221 million contract. On the other hand, the Sixers have 12 of their players enter free agency this summer, leaving Embiid the only one under guaranteed salary. Philly can make room for George if they are serious regarding their postseason aspirations. Maxey, who is a restricted free agent will be expecting a max contract too. At this point, the front office will have to be careful when it comes to giving away huge deals.

On the bright side, the Sixers have missed Jimmy Butler’s role ever since his departure. PG can fill this spot, being someone who shoots over 41% from deep and puts up 20+ points a game. It will be interesting to see the Sixers build a solid roster around Embiid, Maxey, and hopefully the LA star, Paul George. This offseason is going to be quite eventful, with not only Paul George being the highlight, but also players like Klay Thompson, James Harden, and others.
