The Los Angeles Clippers are on a hot streak. They got back-to-back road wins against the Portland Trail Blazers in their last two games. Kawhi Leonard and Co. look to extend their winning streak as they prepare to host the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow at 12:30 PM PDT. Kawhi’s health raises concerns ahead of the game after he injured his wrist during Wednesday’s Blazers encounter. The Clippers today received an update on Kawhi Leonard and other injured players’ availability that could prove pivotal in Sunday’s clash.

According to the update, Kawhi Leonard is not on the injury report and will likely play against the Sixers tomorrow. That is great news for the Clippers considering Kawhi has been their best player all season. However, Kawhi’s teammates Normal Powell (lower leg) and PJ Tucker (right calf soreness) are questionable for Sunday’s game. Former MVP Russell Westbrook is out for the game as he is still recovering from the surgery on his fractured hand.

Norman Powell has missed three straight games due to a leg injury and might miss another game tomorrow. He has been a key contributor to the Clippers’ success, averaging 13.9 points and 2.6 rebounds. Meanwhile, PJ Tucker injured his calf during yesterday’s game against Portland. He left the game after playing only 8 minutes and scored 3 points before getting injured. As for Russell Westbrook, he is expected to return for Monday’s game against the Indiana Pacers.

On the other hand, the Philadelphia 76ers will play tomorrow’s game extremely shorthanded. Joel Embiid, Kyle Lowry, Robert Covington, and De’Anthony Melton have all been ruled out against the Clippers due to injury. With Kawhi Leonard healthy and several Philly stars absent, the Clippers might anticipate a comfortable home win tomorrow.

Kawhi Leonard Fitness This Year

Kawhi Leonard has built a reputation for being injury-prone and taking time off for load management. However, this season has turned things around for the 2-time Champion. Kawhi is having the healthiest season of his Clippers tenure. He has already played in 63 games this season, his most since the 2016-17 season in San Antonio. In doing so, the forward has crossed the 60-game mark for the first time as a Clippers player.

Not only has Kawhi stayed healthy and available, but he has been a dominant force on the court. He is averaging 23.8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. There have been a few injury concerns along the way, but Kawhi has managed to stay on the court for the most part. He has led the Clippers to the 4th seed in a stacked Western Conference with a 44-25 record. With that, the Clippers hope Kawhi can maintain the stance for the rest of the season, solidifying their run toward the Championship dream.
