From “out” to “questionable”, the Clippers release their injury report, and Center Ivica Zubac might just be making an earlier-than-expected appearance. The Los Angeles Clippers are all set for their showdown against the Miami Heat on February 5th.

With Zubac’s potential early return and Miami’s seven straight losses (albeit followed by two recent wins), the game could very well be a breeze for the stacked All-Star Clippers team. Their second and final match-up in the regular season would be a treat to watch.

Ivica Zubac was running high before the injury

Before the Grizzlies game, Zubac was playing at an exceptional level. In 27 back-to-back games, the Center shot at least 50% from the field and averaged at 12.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game before his injury.

The LA Clippers reporter and beat writer for ClutchPoints tweeted about Zubac’s diagnosis. He was quick to point out that when their defensive anchor plays, the Clippers boast a 222-138 record (.617) all-time.

Even though Zubac was stated to return in mid-February due to his right calf strain, his return over a week ahead of schedule might just secure the team their next dub.

In his absence, the fort was being held down by Mason Plumlee playing center, and Daniel Theis in the backup minutes. However, it’s no secret that the Clippers were functioning on a whole ‘another level with Zubac on the court. Zubac missed 9 straight games ever since his right calf had been strained.
