Both Hillary and Jordan spoke to 12news to reveal their true thoughts on Booker’s achievement. “I will be completely honest, it’s a bittersweet thing,” said Jordan. “When I realized how close he was, I was a little sad.”

While breaking a record that stood for nearly four decades is bittersweet, Jordan acknowledged that ‘records are made to be broken.’ “It happens in sports… Devin has been with the Suns since he got drafted and a lot of players don’t get the opportunity to stay with a team that long.”

Meanwhile, Hillary only remembered her father’s legacy amidst his record having broken. She revealed “He was just such a humble guy. He didn’t really bring up his history or his stats much. If you knew, you knew and that was how he left it. He was always happy to talk with people about his career, but he never would bring it up and be like, ‘Hey, by the way, did you know I’m the Suns all-time leading scorer?’”
