During the heated Game 3 between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers, tensions flared over Joel Embiid’s health. Fans from all around the globe, including the ones supporting NYK, were cheering every time he decided to stand up from a fall. However, the big man soon bashed all the support after rendering a flagrant 1 by his name. While he’s been facing a lot of flak for his actions, a shocking ‘repercussion’ update has emerged.

After Embiid took a fall, he stayed on the floor and pulled Mitchell Robinson’s leg while the Knicks’ big man was in the air. Fans complained about a more severe retaliation by the refs, as Joel purposely tried to injure Robinson. But Fred Katz’s latest statement wouldn’t please the NY Knicks fans. On X, he wrote, Joel Embiid will NOT be suspended for anything that happened in Game 3″. Medically, he will be available to play for the game, once he has the green light from the Philadelphia 76ers. However, does the flagrant situation end there and there?

Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau wasn’t too happy after the said game. “I’ll send my clips in like I do every game, and they’ll say, ‘marginal contact’,” he mockingly said. According to fans, Embiid’s stunt calls for a flagrant 2. It’s handed in light of an “unnecessary and excessive contact,” which, from what it looks like, is what Embiid resorted to. Moreover, it would have handed the 76ers superstar an immediate ejection, pitting the NY team in a better spot to mount a 3-0 lead!

Even Knicks’ faces chimed in on the instance. Josh Hart cited, “It was dirty,” while franchise legend Charles Oakley boldly claimed that he “probably would have smacked him [Embiid],” if the foul was against him.

Joel Embiid casts a shadow on Mitchell Robinson’s Game 4 status

Robinson sprained his left ankle after Joel Embiid’s unprecedented play. Moreover, the Knicks center was unable to participate in team practice on Saturday. Throughout the series, he has been on the receiving end of ill-advised plays by Embiid several times. Before the questionable leg pull, Embiid kicked Robinson in the groin during a step-back jumper and also fell on Robinson’s leg.

With that, the Knicks just don’t need Robinson to run up and down the court, but healthy enough to go pound by pound against Embiid’s 7ft 280lbs frame. The Knicks will assess Robinson during the “warm-up tomorrow and see where he is.”

The Knicks still have an upper hand in the series (2-1). However, the coming game will be played at Wells Fargo, handing the 76ers a home-court advantage. Embiid went on a humongous 33-point spree in the second half that saw Robinson on the sidelines. Do you see Philly clawing its way back into this series?
