After an 11-year-long run with the Portland Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard wanted to part ways with the Blazers. The 7 time NBA All-Star issued his trade request in July and publicly expressed his desire to go to the Miami Heat. Earlier this month, Damian Lillard was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Dame’s ex-teammate in the Blazers CJ McCollum also had a nine-year run with the team until he left for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2021. The two guards developed a close bond during their long stay with the Blazers. Now that Damian is stepping into a new role with the Bucks and looking to win, CJ is excited to watch his friend with his new teammates.

CJ considers Dame a “good friend of mine“. Despite not playing in the same team anymore, he says that they still keep in touch consistently throughout the season. As a friend, CJ is proud of how far Dame has come as a player. Now that ‘Dame Time‘ Lillard has teamed up with ‘Greek Freak‘ Giannis, CJ is excited to see the two working together on the court. The two played together as teammates for the first time during the Bucks’ game against the LA Lakers, where they left an instant impression on the fans by leading the Bucks to a 108-97 victory.

Fans have already given the duo a new nickname called ‘Freak Time.’ As the season unfolds, only time will tell how well Dame and the 2 time MVP work their chemistry.
