Chris Paul found himself in the middle of a storm when he accused Foster of having a personal agenda against him. The incident took place on 23rd November in a game between the Warriors and Suns. Foster ejected Paul in the 17th minute because of unsportsmanlike conduct. But, in a post-match interview, Paul said, “It’s personal. We had a situation some years ago, and it’s personal. The league knows, everybody knows.” However, Adam Silver issued a stern warning to the two and requested the two veterans to maintain professionalism.

Silver said, “The way you handle that, at least the way we’ve tried to handle that, is talk to both of them and say, ‘The expectation is that you’re going to be professional.” However, Paul recollects a different version of the story. In a press conference, Paul implied that Adam Silver didn’t personally speak to him. He said, “Nah, ain’t nobody called me since all that happened.” The league hasn’t punished Chris Paul for his “personal” accusation of Scott Foster, however, this would serve as a final warning for Paul before several actions are taken.
