While everyone’s beloved TNT show Inside The NBA is done for this season, we can still watch the members of that iconic panel making appearances at the ongoing finals. As The Celtics made light work of the Mavs yet again last night, Charles Barkley joined the NBA TV crew to analyze the game. However, watching the Celtics take a 3-0 lead in the series, laziness took over Barkley amid his job search as he made early off-day plans, guaranteeing Boston’s victory in the finals.
Yes, Barkley at the age of 61, might be back in the job market soon as his TNT job could come to an end next season with the NBA’s new media rights deal going to NBC. Even Chuck claimed that he desperately needed to find work a few days ago on OutKick, “I need a J-O-B. I got grandkids now. I got two grandkids” But Barkley didn’t seem in much hurry last night as he revealed his shocking plan for his day off after Game 3, “I guarantee you this thing is over Friday night… I’m going to Galveston on my day off tomorrow.”
It looks like Barkley has come around to the idea of visiting the famous beach in Texas as just a few weeks ago on Inside The NBA, he seemed to despise it. However, he was still skeptical about going into the water on his visit today, “I’m going down there to lay on the beach… Can’t go in the water.” With the discussion going a bit off-track, the host tried to bring the panelists back to talking about last night’s game. But Barkley claimed there might be nothing left to talk about as the Celtics were going to win these finals, “The game is over man. They down 3-0. What the hell we gonna talk about?”

Charles Barkley is not fond of the water at Galveston Beach
It seems like a miracle that Charles Barkley is voluntarily talking about visiting Galveston Beach because he didn’t seem too fond of it a few weeks ago. And it all began when Barkley claimed that the Pelicans wouldn’t even get a ticket to Cancun after their abysmal playoff performance and would be sent to Galveston instead. “We’re gonna send them to Galveston where that dirty a** water be washed up on the shore, you people think they in the beach.” Chuck said. Then, doubling down on the insults and making Shaq laugh hysterically, Barkley claimed that when he played for the Rockets, they fooled the team by promising to take them to a beach and taking them to Galveston instead.
Enraging several Texas natives with his comments, even Beyonce’s mother had to call out Barkley on X and come in defense of the Galveston beach. “Chuck, we don’t play about Galveston, Texas! You better watch it sucker!” she wrote, causing the Hall of Famer to issue a hilarious public apology on Live TV. “I don’t want that smoke.” However, he didn’t back down from his stance of the water at that beach being very dirty. But watching the Celtics heading toward a possible sweep, Barkley seems to have changed his mind about visiting the beach because he might not get another chance to do so anytime soon.
