Fans rip Charles Barkley apart after he dropped a controversial opinion on Kyrie Irving. The Dallas guard has had a brilliant postseason, anchoring the Mavs deep into the playoffs alongside Luka Doncic. While he received heaps of praise and fandom, the 32-year-old was entangled in a lot of controversy a few years ago. It was all because of his political stance and his belief against vaccination. And, tonight, Barkley dug out the past, only to get trashed by fans.

Ahead of the tip-off, Chuck said, “He (Irving) self-inflicted himself. He gotta take some responsibility. I think he is grown up. I think he is matured. Stephen A. and other people criticized him. He rightly deserved it. You can’t go out there and be anti-Semitic… He deserved the criticism he got, he deserved the suspension he got, but a basketball player, I think he is really grown up,” sitting alongside the Inside Guys crew.

Barkley’s out-pour of words came in after Kenny Smith dropped a similar opinion.

During the 2022-23 season, Irving stirred the NBA world. He shared a link to a film that was against the league’s political stance. And, the then-Nets guard refused to apologize, and the league slapped him with an indefinite suspension. Importantly, he also lost his Nike deal in the process.

While the league and star moved past the incident, the TNT Inside Guys crew brought it out of nowhere. Uncle Drew came out of the suspension and even moved to a different franchise. Moreover, he is also on the verge of qualifying for the NBA Finals after his last success in the Cavs uniform.

Nevertheless, fans online were quick to call out the legends and their controversial opinions amid the Mavs’ glorious run.

Fans advise Charles Barkley to “keep some things to himself”

Charles Barkley definitely has the right to make his opinion known, but the fans were upset about bringing it up out of nowhere. Especially, when Kyrie Irving turned the NBA world’s attention along with Luka Doncic. The duo is currently amid a historic run, becoming the first-ever backcourt stars to drop at least 30 points each in three games in a playoff. Moreover, the duo even forced start the best backcourt duo in the league debate as well.

Highlighting Charles Barkley’s untimely dig at Irving, a fan wrote, “Charles Barkley gotta learn to just keep some things to himself… no need to bring up Kyrie Irving thing rn. Let it go.” Notably, Chuck even called Irving an “idiot” when he shared a film’s link on X handle which was against the legend’s political stance.

Another fan had a controversial reaction to the situation and stated that Irving didn’t deserve the suspension. Adding to the reaction, another fan had a similar view, as they wrote, “Charles Barkley is a BUM! Why are you rehashing the misperception of KYRIE IRVING!”

This fan had personal advice for Kai as he asked him to make a note of the criticisms that the analysts dropped against him on live TV. Importantly, another fan didn’t spare any sympathy for the dangling future of TNT with the NBA.

They wrote, “You must be watching TNT NBA TIPOFF too. Charles Barkley is a disgrace. I believe this show is coming to an end for good. Which is just right. I like Kenny but Charles.”
