Is the Golden State Warriors' dynasty truly over without Klay Thompson? What do you think?

It’s been a torturous few weeks for the Warriors fans. After months of speculation, Klay Thompson is finally out of the Bay Area and will write a new chapter in his storied career. His exit surely took away a chunk of the Warriors’ arsenal, and it relegated them to a beyond “mediocre” tier. At least according to Charles Barkley. The ever-opinionated Chuckster continued being critical of the Dubs and dropped some truth bombs on them.

With the offseason in full swing, the TNT analyst is also in the vacation mood. Barkley was recently caught in action on a golf course and was given the platform to provide an assessment on the Warriors minus Klay. After some swings with the golf club, Sir Charles said, “They got a mediocre team, mediocre last year. They’re gonna be even a more mediocre next year.”

When asked who they need to go out and get for next season, Barkley did not provide a specific solution and only added, “What it is they just all past their prime. So that run is over.” Barkley has been a known detractor of GSW for a long time and this only added to it. According to Chuck’s co-analyst on Inside the NBA, Shaq, there’s no hate, it’s just “marketing”, but the constant bashing of the Warriors proves otherwise.

Barkley has also been a constant critic of the Splash Brother for a while now. In 2022, he pointed out 3 reasons for believing that Thompson will never get back to his best again. “Klay was the best two-way player in basketball for a long time and what I said was, ‘He’s still a good player, he’s never going to be that guy again’ for three reasons: age, Achilles, and ACL,” he said in an interview.

Now, with a fresh beginning with the Mavs, Klay Thompson would like to put the record straight and regain the lost glory. But the despair from the Bay Area isn’t over even after the end.

Have an interesting take?

In his 13 years with the Dubs, Klay made a legacy for himself alongside some of the best the league had to offer. While Klay made a name, a former Warriors PG watched on from the other side of the court. Baron Davis is the man in question who spent 3 seasons with the Dubs till 2008. He recently appeared on “The Draymond Green Show” and expressed his feelings about seeing a legend of the West Coast leave. “I hate to see it… The dynasty is over… This is not the storybook ending,” Baron told Draymond.

Despite the lament, Davis revealed that he hopes the franchise pays due respect to Klay with documentaries and videos. With the Mavs side, Klay’s chances of getting that elusive 5th ring look much better. Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic were also a significant reason for his decision to join the Mavs. The trio will be the foundation of their title bid after missing out on the Championship last season.

But for the Warriors, things look far from roses and daisies. With Stephen Curry and Draymond Green heading towards their final years in the league, the dynasty is truly over and will take another rebuilding job to put them back in the hunt again.
