Nothing has landed well for the Atlanta Hawks after they traded Luka Doncic for Trae Young in the first place. Chicago Bulls might have exceeded their season-high of 136 points against the Hawks on Wednesday. Dejounte Murray‘s solo efforts on offense and Trae Young’s off-game in his role as defense kept Hawks 15 points short of the Bulls’ second-best 131. Considering the performance, the team’s best interest is in trading him while he still has contractual control to last through to 202-27.

Even Trae Young’s ex-teammate Chandler Parsons thinks that the former is better off in another team. In his recent interaction on the NBA Show Run It Back, Parsons said, “I think [Trae Young’s] time has just ran its course in Atlanta, I’d like to see him somewhere else.” The former Hawks forward was confident in his former teammate’s abilities as he called Young “Hooper” and “Raw Deal” for the teams ready to pick him up as their star player.

Despite being all-supportive for Young, Parsons did not go easy on Hawks coach Quin Snyder. Considering the drastic Play-in performance from his former team last night, Parsons shared, “The Hawks in general confuse me. ..Last night, they all had missing Onkongwu, Jalen Johnson, and A.J. Griffin for a long time. Those are valuable players.” According to Parsons, the Hawks management is not utilizing their “valuable assets” that can set them on a winning streak this year.

Even after predicting Young’s future in another team, Parsons was not sure which team would be the best for the Hawks’ star now.

Teams that can rejuvenate Trae Young’s career

There are rumors prevailing that the Los Angeles Lakers might choose Young to culminate their third-star hunt. NBA insider Jovan Buha of The Athletic thinks that the Hawks’ point guard might be the most realistic option for them to choose this summer. In his live stream, Buha commented, “He’s been to Laker playoff games before, he’s a Clutch Sports client. That’s probably the most realistic one right now.

However, 3x NBA Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams thinks that Young will be better suited at Hawks instead of getting traded to other teams. Being one of the ex-teammates of Young, Lou shared on the Run It Back show, “I want to see Trae [Young] be a lifelong Hawk, I think he’s deserved that, he’s done probably everything that he can do being in the position he’s been in.

At the end of the day, his fate lies in the hands of Hawks management and their plans for his future. The available draft pick at the Lakers might be a turnaround for the Hawks’ point guard this summer.
