The Dallas Mavericks got decimated at home by the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. After an impressive 24-point first-half performance by Luka Doncic, he fell flat on his face in the second half. That led to the Slovenian sensation getting frustrated, and he even got a Suns fan ejected from the arena for bad-mouthing him.

However, former Boston Celtics veteran Kendrick Perkins claimed Luka’s fan interaction was merely a distraction. And he slapped the Dallas Mavericks superstar with a harsh reality about Devin Booker in the humiliating loss. “D Book walked into his (Luka Doncic) house, didn’t knock on the door, didn’t take off his shoes, went and sat on his couch, and turned on his TV. Watched what he wanted to watch, and ordered a 46-piece wing dinner from Buffalo Wild Wings.” Perkins said about Booker’s 46-point scoring outburst on Luka. To add salt to Luka’s wounds, Perkins claimed Booker used Luka’s credit card to pay for dinner last night.

Luka Doncic and Co. started the game hot and took a commanding lead in the first half. Doncic finished the half with 24 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. Meanwhile, the Suns Big 3 had only 31 points in that period. Many expected the Mavs to come out with an easy win over the Suns. But Devin Booker and Co. came with a vengeance in the second half and turned the game around. Booker scored 30 points in the second half and blew the Mavs out 132-109. Devin Booker has a 10-3 winning record against Luka Doncic in his career.

However, Booker will always be haunted by his worst performance against the Dallas Mavericks superstar.

Luka Doncic owned Devin Booker on the biggest stage

Even though Devin Booker has more wins than losses against Luka Doncic, fans only remember the time when Luka humiliated Booker in the playoffs. During the 2022 Western Conference semi-finals, the Phoenix Suns were up 3-2 against the Mavs. Booker decided to mock Luka after the win and said, “The Luka Special” while flopping during a play. Luka responded with the now iconic line, “Everybody acting tough when they up.”

Booker’s words would come back to haunt him as Luka dominated the Suns in the final two games of the series. Luka went off for 33 points in Game 6 and 35 points in Game 7 to lead the Mavs to a 4-3 series win. Meanwhile, Devin Booker choked in both games and scored only 11 points in Game 7. Although last night’s performance was somewhat of a revenge for Booker, fans will never let him forget his playoff choke job until he defeats Luka Doncic and Co. in the post-season.
