The Boston Celtics will travel to South Florida to take on the Miami Heat in an Eastern Conference showdown. Boston, the second-best team in the East boasts an impressive 37-16 record to show for it. Amazingly, they even rolled past their rivals, the Knicks on Saturday 131-104 at the Madison Square Garden.
Jayson Tatum was the star of the show scoring 40 points in just 37 minutes. What makes his performance more incredible is the fact that the Celtics’ other star Jaylen Brown was struggling during the game. But that was not all, they also missed several players, including, Jrue Holiday. This has left the fans wondering if the two will suit for tonight. Worry not, we’re here to clear just that. So, let’s find out.

The Celtics are gearing up to face the Heat, with concerns over Jaylen Brown and Jrue Holiday’s fitness. So, will we see Brown and Holiday in action against Miami? Well, unfortunately, veteran Jrue Holiday has been ruled out for tonight. He has been suffering from a shoulder injury that kept him out of the last game as well.
Moving on, Jaylen Brown might also be absent from tonight’s game. The shooting guard is questionable for the matchup due to a knee issue. So far, Brown has been Boston’s second-highest scorer averaging 22.9 points along with 6 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. The Celtics could take a huge blow without Brown and Holiday.

Jayson Tatum is also on the injury report. The superstar forward is on day-to-day due to a right patella tendinopathy. Given how important he is to their playing style, the Celtics will hope he’s cleared to play tonight. Moreover, Torrey Craig is ruled out due to an ankle injury.
Lastly, Anton Watson might miss tonight’s action after sustaining a thigh injury. On the flip side, their opponents the Heat are doing relatively better with only a few injuries. Miami could be without Nikola Jovic and Jaime Jaquez Jr. Furthermore, they only have two players ruled out Isaiah Stevens and Dru Smith. That said, let’s see how Boston will navigate through these injuries.

Boston Celtics’ predicted starting five for tonight’s showdown
With veteran point guard Jrue Holiday ruled out, coach Joe Mazzulla will have to make some tweaks and hope the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are cleared to play. Moreover, amid the injury woes, Payton Pritchard might clock in some more minutes. He was brilliant the other night against the Knicks scoring 25 points, and grabbing 4 rebounds.
That said, here’s how the Celtics can line up:

Overall, the Celtics historically have fared well against the Heat, leading the all-time head-to-head record 84-53. Moreover, they also destroyed the Heat in December, 108-89. However, Tatum and Brown potentially missing tonight’s game might just complicate things for Boston. That said, the Heat should be a stern test for the defending champs and they should be able to pull through with a win on the road.
