Philanthropy and goodwill have always been central to the Curry household. And so, the NBA’s brightest star, Stephen Curry, continues his father, Dell Curry’s legacy of uplifting young Americans. Following the success of the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, Curry Jr.’s Underrated Golf brand, is now making a significant impact. On Friday, November 22, the 4x NBA champion, alongside his father and NBA veteran Dell Curry, shared exciting news for two lucky youths.

Underrated Golf and Cisco have announced the $25,000 Dell Curry Scholarship Award winners. Cisco, a $234.4 billion tech leader, partnered with Stephen Curry’s project for this initiative. The award recognizes outstanding character on and off the green. A committee of 16 carefully reviewed the junior golfers’ talents. Maleah Clark and Jayden Lizama were selected for their positive and unique impact on the game.

Moreover, Steph joined the virtual meeting to congratulate the youngsters. “I am so excited to be able to present this inaugural scholarship to Maleah and Jayden,” said Stephen Curry. “As amazing ambassadors of the UNDERRATED Golf Tour who exemplify what it means to have integrity, character, and perseverance on and off the course.”

He added: “This scholarship is a gesture to the amazing work they have done. Their futures are undeniably bright, and I can’t wait to see where their incredible work ethic leads them. The Dell Curry Scholarship presented by Cisco is an opportunity to encourage Maleah and Jayden, along with the winners that will come after them, to continue to be themselves and show up in spaces that matter.”

Well, you can imagine the shock on the faces of the scholarship winners. Had they ever guessed that the Stephen Curry would be present in their grand moment? Surely not. But knowing how passionate the Chef is about such projects, his kind gesture wasn’t so much of a surprise after all.

We know, Stephen Curry is the flagbearer of humility in the NBA. He is always there to support his teammates and uplift their morale. Curry believes in growing for the team and growing with the team. Interestingly enough, Dell Curry was also in this manner during his NBA days. Well, both the scholarship recipients, Maleah Clark and Jayden Lizama seem to embody the sentiments. Moreover, both members of the Underrated Golf Tour express their dedication to the sport.

Besides, uplifting others and being kind, considerate, individuals, the Underrayed Golf team, undoubtedly knew Maleah and Jayden would be great fits for the award and great role models to the recipients of future classes of Underrated Golf.
