NBA legends Gilbert Arenas, Kenyon Martin, and Nick Young discussed Draymond Green’s return from suspension on Gil’s Arena podcast. During the episode, they played the video of Draymond talking about his conversation with Adam Silver. Green claimed he told Silver, “It’s all becoming too much for me, and I’m going to retire.” The NBA Commissioner talked the 4-time Champion out of retirement. When Kenyon Martin was asked what he thought of Green’s retirement story, he responded, “I call cap if I look at the money aspect of it.”

Draymond is in the first year of his 4-year $100 million contract he signed during the off-season. He still has three and a half years left on his contract and is due a lot of money. According to the NBA legends, Draymond would not have given up that money and retired before his contract expired.

According to Martin, if we exclude the money aspect, Draymond’s decision would be understandable given the recent challenges he has experienced.
