The 24-year-old signed a 5-year $197 million supermax extension with the Grizzlies last summer, and he is set to earn $21.4 million more than what he earned last season. But all this money has not brought peace in the life of the Grizzlies superstar. He got suspended by the NBA for 25 games after a video of him holding a firearm inside a car surfaced on social media.
The severity of the punishment was because this was not the first time Ja Morant had committed an act like this. He did the same thing a few months prior to the incident, leaving the fans concerned about his wellbeing.

Ja Morant will not play the first 25 games of the 2023-24 NBA season. The Grizzlies fans want their superstar to return soon so that they can make a run for the Championship. Memphis added veteran leaders Marcus Smart and Derrick Rose to their roster this off-season, and they will provide some much-needed guidance to the young Memphis squad.
