The 19-year-old French basketball sensation, Victor Wembanyama, has officially set foot on the NBA courts. Since the NBA draft, everyone?s got their eyes fixed on the rookie. The pressure on Wemby to perform is immense. As though struggling to live up to the hype, the Spur?s top pick had ?Bambi legs? in his first few games.?

The former NBA superstar, Gilbert Arenas, noticed it too and wasn?t too worried. While Arenas? faith in the rookie is absolute, he has some words of wisdom for Wemby. Gibby on the Gil?s Arena podcast confessed that Wembanyama is trying to do too much on the court. ?Make it as simple until you get your rhythm,? says Arenas. Creating space and using ball-handling skills to just jump and shoot, ?Tim Duncan-style? should improve Wembanyama?s game, according to Gil.?

Words of wisdom for the Spurs? rookie

Additionally, the podcast crew was wary of Wembanyama?s size. The ?toothpick? rookie should get strength training was the unanimous opinion. Gilbert Arenas suggested the rookie ?go KD and old Anthony Davis? for a reason. Kevin Durant, also known as the Slim Reaper, is tall and thin and can shoot from any range. The 212lbs KD bulked up his frame since the debut and is now a solid 240-pounder.?

And let?s not forget that the Old Anthony Davis, who has an 8-inch growth spurt in high school, was also a ?toothpick? baller in his debut season. Since then, Davis is all muscles. In 2015, Davis bulked up to a whopping 253 lbs, shocking the NBA world. Gil Arenas believes that some strength training will improve Wemby?s footing as the games get progressively intense.?
