The playoffs are just around the corner and the Los Angeles Lakers could use all the help they get. With veteran LeBron James nursing a sore ankle that marks him questionable nearly every game, the team will need all players to stay healthy if they are to make the postseason. However, their major wing forward Cam Reddish has still not made a re-entry for almost 3 weeks now. It is a concerning topic for the Lakers as they try to move heaven and earth in each game.
Further, the recent tweet by Lakers Nation does not bring any further ease to the Lakers loyalists as their talented forward stays off the floor. The tweet reads, “Darvin Ham says Cam Reddish has been working through “extreme soreness” in his ankle and they are trying to manage it as best as they can.”

While the Lakers seem to get more green than red with their on-and-off victories, Reddish’s contribution would put them in a much safer place. Currently, Darvin Ham has to rotate the roster to fill the gaps in its depth. The hit-and-try on the minutes can lead to significant losses for the Lakers.

Additionally, with King James returning after his sore ankle recovers, he might need the assistance of the skillful No. 5 on the court.
How will Cam Reddish’s presence boost the Lakers?
Although only a new member of the Lakers family, Reddish has made a spot for himself. Applying his defensive prowess to the robust players on the competition end, the 6’7″ provided the offense a better chance of bucketing. Additionally, being a leader in the deflections and steals, his company can be a complete overturn for LA.

Previously, when the doctors cleared him back in February, HC Darvin Ham could not hide his elation. However, it only lasted for some time as the dynamic defender had to stay off longer, with 21 missed games and counting. Appreciating Reddish, the coach said, “Just his on-ball defending, his point of attack defense, his length, his ability to playmake off the dribble, catch-and-shoot 3s, his size, the way he chases down 50-50 balls and comes up with offensive rebounds.”
He also added, “Just his knack and his great feet, great hands at that size. He definitely makes an impact when you have him in your lineup.”
With that being said, clearly Lakers can do with Reddish soon, especially as the games get more intense. Also, with multiple players off the play due to injuries and Bron not being in his best physique, the team needs to find ways to substitute important roles. Nevertheless, all the Lakers fans can do until then is pray for his quick recovery as the Lakers take on the Sacramento Kings next.
