When the Charlotte Hornets recovered from the Grant Williams setback, another one presented itself. It’s not the most glorious season for the team as they falter with a 6-13 record. However, their star boy, the 23-year-old LaMelo Ball emerged as a beacon of hope. But, it looks like the basketball gods don’t want the Hornets to have a moment’s relief, because there is some concerning news about the All-Star point guard.

The team announced today that LaMelo Ball has been diagnosed with a left calf strain. Ball sustained the injury during Wednesday’s game against the Miami Heat. Initially, reports listed him with left calf soreness before he underwent further evaluation. The Hornets further announced they will reevaluate LaMelo on December 11 after his left calf strain. Ball missed his first game of the season on Friday against New York. He will miss at least the next five games: Hawks, Sixers, Knicks, Cavaliers, and Pacers. Besides, he could stay sidelined even longer and this isn’t great news for his team.
