The landmark NBA vs. WNBA 3-point contest at the 2024 All-Star Weekend had the league in a chokehold last year. The event generated plenty of positive coverage for the NBA and WNBA while raising awareness of women’s basketball. And with so much buzz surrounding the contest, it wasn’t surprising when NBA commissioner Adam Silver hinted that another Stephen Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu shootout could happen again at the 2025 All-Star Game in San Francisco. However, while doing so, he also dropped a Caitlin Clark bombshell.
The Iowa star is declared for the draft in May and is projected to be a first-overall pick, expected to be selected by the Indiana Fever. However, this year could also mark her NBA debut. According to Silver, next year’s NBA All-Star Weekend could also integrate other players, including Caitlyn Clark. “Obviously everyone’s excited about Caitlin coming into the league,” Silver said during an appearance on the “King Charles” television show on CNN.

Clark’s NBA debut was further confirmed by Shams Charania of The Athletic on FanDuel’s Run It Back. “At this point, Stephen Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu is very likely for next year. Next year’s All-Star Weekend is going to be in the Bay Area in San Francisco at Chase Center in 2025. And I’m told with Caitlin Clark and potentially Klay Thompson to make it 2v2,” said Charania.

Charania also hinted that Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard could potentially join the Splash Brothers in next season’s crossover event, promising an extraordinary display of marksmanship. However, before Clark makes her NBA debut, her immediate focus remains on guiding her team to a national championship.
Caitlin Clark’s 41-point performance powers Iowa Hawkeyes to the Final Four
Last season, Iowa’s dreams of championship glory were shattered by the LSU Tigers in a heartbreaking 85-102 defeat in the finals. However, this year, Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes turned the tables, exacting sweet revenge with a thrilling 94-87 victory against LSU in the Elite Eight to secure their second consecutive Final Four appearance. Clark delivered yet another career-defining performance, tallying a remarkable 41 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds while tying her career-best with nine three-pointers.
