The Stephen Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu 3-point contest lived up to the hype. The NBA and WNBA collaboration event was one of the most highly-anticipated events of this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend. Steph and Sabrina put on a show in Indiana, and Steph was crowned the Ultimate Champion of the first-of-its-kind event. While the NBA world was still buzzing from the event, Sabrina and Steph teased an updated version of the contest for the 2025 All-Star Weekend.
During the post-event conference, Sabrina hinted at partnering with Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark in next year’s rendition of the contest. Sabrina revealed that she had a discussion with Steph after tonight’s event and might consider turning it into a team battle for the next year. The New York Liberty star also said that Steph already had a partner in mind for the event, and she needed one. “I am open to any partner that can help me win and take that belt that he has up front and center away from him,” Ionescu remarked. Caitlin Clark might be the perfect partner for Sabrina since many have deemed her “The Female Stephen Curry” after her dominant performance in college.

While Sabrina Ionescu has become a WNBA legend because of her incredible shooting ability, Caitlin Clark has been doing the same at the collegiate level. Clark has become one of the most popular female hoopers in the county because of her unlimited range and competitive personality. She became the All-time leading scorer of the NCAA Women’s Basketball on Thursday after hitting a logo 3-pointer for the record. Clark will be eligible to declare for the WNBA draft this season, and we could witness the clash between Steph and Clark in next year’s contest.

Which partner does Stephen Curry have in mind?
After Sabrina revealed that Steph already had a partner in mind, the NBA World could not help but wonder who that could be. Steph will probably choose his Warriors teammate and the other half of the Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson, as his partner for next year’s challenge. The Splash Brothers are one of the most dominant duos in NBA history and undoubtedly the Greatest shooting duo of all time. The competition between The Splash Brothers and two of the Greatest Women shooters would be must-see television.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver would consider making the event official for 2025, considering how well it turned out this year. Although Steph and Sabrina have not revealed their partners, Klay Thompson and Caitlin Clark’s addition would take the event’s hype to a new level.
