We are already in December and the 2024-25 season isn’t fresh anymore. The teams are warmed up and we’ve already had a clean look at how the season might proceed. The first to impress us was the Brooklyn Nets. Everyone expected the team to anchor at the bottom, or at least suggested doing so to improve their chances at the Draft lottery. But the team surprised everyone with their grit. Currently standing at the 9th seed with no intention of backing down, they take on the Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls, another Eastern Conference team, came into the season with a major trade, losing their star forward, DeMar DeRozan. However, in terms of performance, the team has neither declined nor improved, as they continued to float in the middle of the table compared to last season. With almost zero contribution from the bench, Zach LaVine, Coby White, and Nikola Vučević took charge of the team’s offense.
Ahead of tonight’s challenge, the teams faced each other early in the season where the Nets sealed a 120-112 win, supported by Cam Thomas’ game-high 32 points. On the other hand, the Bulls lost the game despite an 80-point effort from the Bulls trio, spearheaded by Vučević’s 28 points and 11 rebounds effort.

However, the Bulls may have a chance for revenge tonight, as the Nets have a stacked injury report. The team has listed Dorian Finney-Smith, Ziaire Williams, Cameron Johnson, and Ben Simmons in the doubtful category and ruled out Day’Ron Sharpe, Jaylen Martin, Noah Clowney, and Bojan Bogdanovic for various injuries. Most importantly, the team has lost their primary offense machine, Cam Thomas, for at least 3-4 weeks. So, LaVine & Co. might have a straightforward game.
Moreover, the Bulls only have two players in their injury and the only concern is Coby White is Questionable for tonight’s game with an ankle injury.
Bulls vs Nets: Starting lineup and depth chart
The Nets depth might look like they don’t have players to operate tonight. However, the team has listed four players in the doubtful category. So, some players from the list would show up for the game. It’s important that the Nets have their star forward Cam Johnson fit for the game. The 5 ‘8 big tweaked both his ankles in a few days. Even though he’s highly unlikely to play tonight, the star’s presence is enough to put up a fight against the Bulls. Above all, the team needs Dennis Schroder to be on top of his game.
