We all know Stephen A. Smith as a man who has a lot to say about the NBA and its athletes. Sometimes controversial and polarising, we cannot deny that his love and passion for the sport transcends the walls of the arena. And this time, he is back with a warning for the Bucks‘ Head Coach Adrian Griffin after he got into a spat with Giannis Antetokounmpo from the sidelines on Wednesday.

The Celtics (12-3) put a break on the Bucks’ (10-5) five-game winning streak on Wednesday by serving them a close 119-116 loss. Despite the loss, it would be fair to say that the Bucks are actually on a decent run this season, leading the Central Division with the No.1 spot. However, the dispute between Coach Griffin and Giannis prompted a reaction from Stephen A.

Stephen A. comes in hot with the statement that not everybody gets to coach the great Giannis Antetokounmpo and that Griffin should consider himself fortunate. His message for Coach Griffin is plain and simple: “I suggest you pump the brakes because Adrian Griffin, if you are listening I assure you the Milwaukee Bucks will cancel you in a heartbeat if Giannis wants them to do so. You better watch yourself. Now, it’s not a threat it’s just words of wisdom coming from somebody like myself.
If anything, Stephen A. has one more tip for Coach Griffin. It’s that, if he wants to get himself fired as a rookie Coach, whatever happened between him and Giannis on Wednesday night was “the way that you do it.” To Stephen A., Giannis is “one of the top two to three players on the planet Earth,” and that power is something to be afraid of.

The Giannis-Griffin beef

It all leads us back to Wednesday night; six minutes remaining on the clock for the third quarter to come to an end, Giannis was called out for a carrying foul, and Coach Griffin was prepping to sub out Giannis for Bobby Portis. However, Giannis became adamant about continuing the game instead of leaving. After a quick conversation at the scorer’s table between him and the coach, Giannis agreed to leave the game for one play and then return.

When we talk about the Bucks, we cannot leave Giannis Antetokounmpo out of the conversation. With a perfect blend of physique and athleticism, Giannis is a beast offensively and defensively. He is currently leading the team in points (29.6) and rebounds (10.4).

According to Stephen A. Smith, Coach Griffin better watch out because Giannis is more than just a dominant player on the court, and it’s about time he comes to terms with the reality that Giannis can have him relieved of his duties in an instant. This makes it tricky for a coach to be able to discipline a player of that caliber but luckily for Griffin, Giannis is known for possessing tremendous humility for a global superstar.
