“I feel good, just not good enough to play, that’s all.” Khris Middleton’s comments back in October only increased the ambiguity around his return to the court. Yes, it has been over six months since he last stepped on the hardwood to play in an NBA game. The reason behind his hiatus? Double ankle arthroscopic surgeries during the offseason. But as the Bucks fanbase eagerly awaits their superstar’s return, the latest update on the veteran forward’s health has raised hopes for a potential season debut soon.
Per veteran insider, Shams Charania, “Khris Middleton has been medically cleared for a period of time.” It means he could be nearing a return! But what’s stopping him is that he’s still ramping up to feel physically ready to step on the court and get back to action.

Well, Khris has made decent progress so far, as his on-court activity has increased, and he has been participating in three-on-three plays for the past few weeks. Doc Rivers also highlighted his progress in a recent interview, “He’s looked good. He’s working his butt off. Listen, I think he’s close. And he’s just going to keep working. This is the best I’ve seen him, I will say that.”

Unfortunately, he has still not begun participating in full-on 5-on-5 scrimmages and the Bucks would like that to be the next step before he makes his season debut. Moreover, this is not the first time Khris Middleton’s debut has been teased, as Doc Rivers said earlier this year that he expected the veteran star to play in the season opener. But, clearly, that never happened. So, although the hoopster’s medical clearance is a massive boost, a set return date is what everyone will be looking forward to.
Khris Middleton is someone the Bucks NEED, amid their struggles
Sure enough, the Bucks would be hoping that Khris Middleton feels ready to play soon. That’s because they are in desperate need of a third star to turn their season around. Yes, they have fallen short of expectations so far and won only 5 of their first 14 games. Sure, Damian Lillard is averaging 25.3 points and Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing like an MVP contender. But they are fully missing firepower in their supporting cast. Well, Khris Middleton could be that missing piece.

What’s your perspective on:
Will Khris Middleton's return be the game-changer the Bucks need this season?
Have an interesting take?
Shockingly, this trio has only suited up for 7 games together under Rivers! Before multiple ankle injuries derailed his season, he was averaging 15.1 points and over five assists last year. Moreover, he shot 38.1% from the three-point line. That’s exactly the kind of attributes the Bucks need right now. Sure, Middleton might no longer be the player he was when the Bucks won the title three years ago, but he can still be a solid No. 3 option on any contending team.
Hopefully, Khris Middleton returns soon so that we can witness the Milwaukee Bucks’ potential at full strength.
