The James family is one step closer to creating a fairytale ending to King James’ career. Firstly, the LA Lakers managed to rope in Bronny James into the fold as the 55th pick and created the opportunity for the father-son action on the court. Now, the only thing that is standing against creating an NBA history is the superstar’s impending player option decision. However, before that, James’ youngest son Bryce dropped a silent wish that could blow up the NBA world if it turned out true.

Following the Bronny James draft, David Lane, one of the close friends of James’ family, shared an IG story, congratulating the 19-year-old. He shared an old picture of LeBron James along with his sons at the gym with a caption that read “Take this in… my guys are teammates!!! So dope!! Happy for you guys!!” Importantly, he didn’t stop at that. He also had a message for the superstar. He tagged him and wrote, “Bron it’s only right you play til Bryce gets there now,” with laughing emojis.

While the story seemed like a lighthearted banter, it caught everyone’s attention when Bryce James reshared it on his IG story without any caption. The only question that could arise in an average fan’s mind is: Is LeBron James going to play with both his sons? Well, that’s a possibility. According to ESPN’s David McMenamin, the Lakers could offer a maximum three-year extension if he signs the player option.

Moreover, the contract value can stretch up to $162 million as per the latest CBA. The over-38 rule allows James to extend his contract for three years and can receive up to 35% of the NBA salary cap or 5% more than his previous case. In that case, the superstar’s annual salary can rack up to $54 million. However, the only thing that matters now is that he has three more years and Bryce has the possibility of making it to the NBA by then.

When will Bryce James join the NBA?

Currently, a high school baller at Sierra Canyon, Bryce James is a 3-star prospect. He also ranks No.22 in his state. Taller than his elder brother, James Jr. is expected to grow further in the coming years. During his junior year, he came off the bench and was promoted to the starting lineup as a shooting guard in his sophomore average. Since he will graduate from high school in 2025, he will be eligible for the 2026 draft.

The 17-year-old already received offers from Duquesne and Ohio State, as per reports. Moreover, the USC Trojans also seemed to be a possible destination for the rising star. Moreover, he also received an opportunity to represent the nation at the U-17 FIBA WC. An opportunity that his elder brother didn’t receive.

Importantly, with Bryce’s NBA entry eligible in 2026, LeBron James can work his magic to play alongside both of his sons. If James signs the 3-year max extension with the Lakers, he will have an active career in the league till 2026-27. Notably, the James family themselves hinted at the superstar’s wish to play alongside both sons in an ad commercial for Beats. In that ad, Savannah can be seen, saying, “Tell them you’re not done until you play with your son. Then do that—again.” When she says “again” the camera closes in on Bryce.
