After a break for Thanksgiving, the NBA will resume with some cup action. Two teams that are silencing giants will test each other. The Brooklyn Nets, a team that has beat three playoff contenders in a row will host the Orlando Magic, a franchise thriving with their ace sidelined. The matchup will has it all on the line for the Nets.

Currently, 1-2 in East Group A, the young side helmed by the veteran acumen of Dennis Schroder is looking to vanquish the undefeated Orlando team. But their chances are certainly bleak due to their lengthy list of injuries, and it sadly starts with their facilitator. Schroder, who has been in red-hot form over the winning stretch will miss the game tomorrow due to personal reasons.

However, that’s only the start of the pile. Several other key players are either doubtful or remain on the sidelines for Brooklyn. Notably, Dorian Finney-Smith and Cameron Johnson remain questionable with ankle sprains. Nic Claxton assumes the same status, continuing to deal with his back issues. Blistering scorer Cam Thomas is also listed out after suffering a left hamstring strain.

While the Nets have their hands tied, the Magic welcomed more ammunition in their statement win against the Bulls. Wendell Carter Jr. made his return after missing 12 games with left foot plantar fasciitis. Having him back has rejuvenated the Magic core along with their spirits. “It was just good to get him out there again, just letting the game come to him, getting the flow, being back out there with his teammates,” head coach Mosley said after the game.

In terms of injuries, apart from Paolo Banchero, who will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks, Gary Harris will not feature in the NBA Cup game against the Brooklyn Nets pertaining to a hamstring injury.

The Barclays Center will be swarming with concern due to the long list of injuries to the Nets’ major influential stars.
