When the season started, only the Celtics had a target on their backs. But now, the Cleveland Cavaliers can count themselves in that so-called target bracket. While some of the league’s most successful franchises are on a rollercoaster ride, the Cavs remained unbeaten through their first 10 games. However, no team can maintain a perfect season forever. The question is: who will be the first to take down this powerhouse from the East?
Now it’s turn for the Brooklyn Nets to try their luck as they head to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. But can the Nets accomplish what seems like an impossible task? We’ll have to wait just a few hours to find that out. In the meantime, let’s take a look at who will be missing from this action-packed matchup.

When it comes to the injury report, the Cavaliers are certainly in a better position. Only two of their players, Max Strus and Emoni Bates, are on the list and have been ruled out ahead of the regular season. Bates, who recently underwent surgery for a torn meniscus in his right knee, will require some time to return. Similarly, Max Strus is still in recovery from an ankle sprain and hasn’t yet completed the full six weeks of his absence.
On the flip side, the Nets have recently added three players to their injury report, as per ESPN. Forwards Trendon Watford and Bojan Bogdanovic will be unavailable for the game against the Cavs due to a hamstring injury and foot injury, respectively. Watford is expected to rejoin the team after the Nets’ short road trip. Joining them on the list is point guard Ben Simmons, who is dealing with a lower back issue. Meanwhile, Day’Ron Sharpe remains listed as out because of his left hamstring strain. The injury report provides a clearer picture of who can be expected to take the court in Saturday evening’s Eastern clash.

While the Cavs have a more energized and intense squad, the Nets bring a competitive team with a stronger defense. With his veteran experience, Dennis Schroder will be guarding the rim alongside Japanese swingman Cam Thomas. Although Ben Simmons’ presence would have added more depth to the Nets’ lineup, he’ll be sidelined for now.
