Over the last few seasons, few players have had a more tumultuous time in the NBA than Ben Simmons. The 3x NBA All-Star has struggled to find any semblance of form and confidence since the 2021 playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks. He has also struggled with recurring back injuries. This season, Simmons has only played seven games.

However, he made a solid return against the Utah Jazz on 29th January, recording 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists in just 18 minutes of playing time. But Simmons missed Brooklyn’s subsequent game against the Suns due to a knee injury. His availability for the Nets’ next match against the Sixers remains uncertain.

The game between the Nets and the Sixers is scheduled to tip-off by 6:00 PM, Eastern Time at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The game promises to be an intriguing watch, as Ben Simmons returns to the city of Philadelphia after forcing his way out in the 2021-22 season. However, there were fears that Simmons could miss tonight’s game, but it appears likely that he will play, as the Nets have listed him as probable.

Apart from Simmons, the Nets could miss the services of Dennis Smith Jr., as they have listed him as questionable due to right foot soreness. Dorian Finney Smith also remains sidelined for the game against the Sixers because of an ankle injury. While the Nets have most of their players fit and ready for tonight’s match, the same can’t be said about the Sixers. Philly has listed Marcus Morris (foot) and Nicolas Batum (hamstring) as questionable. Furthermore, reigning MVP Joel Embiid has injured his lateral meniscus against the Warriors and has been ruled out for tonight’s game.

Predicted Lineups: Sixers vs Nets

The Philadelphia Sixers have been one of the standout teams of the season so far. But their form of late has been concerning, winning just once in the last five games. Moreover, Joel Embiid suffered a knee injury, which looks quite serious and has the potential to rule him out for weeks if not months. Tyrese Maxey stepped up in Embiid’s absence by scoring 51 points vs the Jazz, and he would have to do that again tonight. The Sixers could begin the game with Tyrese Maxey, Kelly Oubre Jr., Tobias Harris, Danuel House Jr. and Paul Reed.

The Brooklyn Nets would be bolstered by the absence of Joel Embiid. However, their recent form has been abysmal, winning just three of their last ten games. The Nets currently occupy the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, with just 19 wins. If they have any ambitions of securing a playoff spot, the Nets need to start winning on a consistent basis. They could start the game with Spencer Dinwiddie, Cam Thomas, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton.
