LeBron vs. Bronny: Who's right about the controversial basket? Does Savannah's support sway your opinion?

“Good defense by him, but it’s always better offense by me.” The entire world witnessed as LeBron and Bronny hilariously argued on Live TV about Daddy James’ controversial basket on the rookie during practice. While LBJ believed he got a clean bucket on his son, Bronny claimed the four-time champion stepped out of bounds during the play, nullifying the shot. With no solid proof to back either one’s claim, it turned into an unsolved mystery. But whose side was Savannah James on amid the whole ordeal? Well, Bronny finally revealed the answer ahead of tonight’s preseason finale.

During an interview with Mike Trudell, Bronny was asked if his mother sides more often with him over LeBron in arguments similar to the one that occurred on Media Day. He replied, “Ummm Yeah. I’d say more than half the times, she is on my side for sure.” Obviously, no argument can shake a mother’s love for her son.

Moreover, Savannah’s love for Bronny is so strong that it even forced her to start playing video games, which she rarely does. During a recent interview, King James revealed that his wife played as Bronny on NBA 2K, “She does not play video games, but she went in practice mode and played with her son.” And soon after, he even shared a video of her doing so on his Instagram story, captioned, “Bronny only way she would pick up the (controller) up!” with multiple laughing emojis. So, even if the referee ruled the basket in LeBron’s favor, Savannah most likely believes that he stepped out of bounds as her son claimed. But regardless of who was in the right, LeBron and Bronny’s interaction showed how great their chemistry has been as teammates.

Bronny James details his preseason experience amid first double-digit performance

While everyone is focused on the father-son bond between LeBron and Bronny, the rookie is focused on improving his game. Unfortunately, playing at the pro level has not been very kind to him so far. In his first five preseason appearances, he went scoreless twice and had the highest-scoring total of only 4 points in the last game. But tonight, Bronny was finally able to find his shooting stroke as he had an impressive 17-point performance against the Warriors. And he even made his first three-pointer of the campaign, finally ending his dry spell.

Unfortunately, it was not enough to get the Lakers the win. But the double-digit performance will surely boost the rookie’s confidence going forward. Despite his underwhelming preseason showing, Bronny has kept a positive outlook as he said, “It’s going great. I love every second of it. It’s my dream to be here. So, I’m just loving getting better every day, learning from the vets, stuff like that. So, it’s been great.” With the preseason over, it is highly likely that he will spend most of next season playing in the G League.
